Welcome to Astro Space Camp, where the cosmos becomes their playground 🪐

Over five exciting days, your child will experience action-packed, hands-on activities that blend learning and fun, making it the perfect adventure for your future astronaut!

The best part? Real astronauts Steve Swanson and Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger will be beaming in LIVE to share their adventures throughout the week, and your child will have the chance to ask them questions directly over video calls.

Age: 7-12 year olds

Drop off: 8:30 - 09:00 | Camp Begins: 09:00 | Camp Ends: 15:30

*Participants will be grouped in small teams by same/similar age. All staff are DBS checked.

Space Camp Timetable 💫

Give your child an unforgettable half-term with hands-on space experiments, rocket building and live video calls with real astronauts Steve Swanson and Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger. Packed with fun and STEM learning, it’s a week designed to spark curiosity and inspire future explorers. You can choose any of the days to attend after booking.

Start time: 09:00 | End time 15:30

Morning Break: 20 mins | Lunch: 45 mins | Afternoon Break: 20 mins

Please note: The itinerary is subject to change to ensure the best experience for all participants.

DAY 1: Mon 17th - Introduction to Space & Solar Exploration

  • Fun icebreakers and a warm welcome to the Space Camp crew.
  • Introduction to the sun and planets, plus an interactive mnemonic challenge to memorise the solar system.
  • Build a working solar oven and bake marshmallow treats!
  • Design and drop-test your own Mars lander using eggs and balloons.

DAY 2: Tues 18th - Rocket Science & Astronaut Q&A with Astronaut Dottie

  • Discover the history of rockets and how they’ve shaped space exploration.
  • Create and test straw rockets and wing gliders in fun competitions.
  • Experiment on how real rockets work.
  • Join a live video call with astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger, where your child can ask questions about her space missions and adventures.

DAY 3: Weds 19th - Astronaut Missions, Postcards to Space & Night sky

  • Design a Mission Patch challenge
  • Send your child’s unique postcard into space on a Blue Origin rocket and return with a special space-flown stamp.
  • Learn about the night sky and create a star map using planispheres.

DAY 4: Thurs 20th - The Moon, Mars & Exploration & Skittles Experiment

  • Understand why the moon always shows the same side to Earth.
  • Build pop film canister rockets that blast off with just water and vitamin tablets!
  • Nappy absorption experiments highlight the technology astronauts use.

DAY 5: Fri 21st - Rocket Launching, Live Q&A with Steve Swanson, Certificates

  • Design a straw kite and learn about gravity with hands-on experiments.
  • Build and fire compressed air rockets into the sky!
  • Receive a personalised certificate during our award ceremony and reflect on the week’s highlights.
  • Ask astronaut Steve Swanson your burning questions during a live video Q&A.
