Spend 5 days with a NASA astronaut, space scientists and elite professors and get ready for life after high school!

This isn’t any ordinary summer school… You'll take on the exciting challenge of designing a space experiment. You'll be assigned to a team with an expert mentor who will guide you every step of the way, ensuring you reach your fullest potential.

At the end of the week, the best experiment will be selected to be built at NASA and launched to the International Space Station (ISS) on a SpaceX rocket, where astronauts on board will conduct it.

Mission Discovery will give you the tools to turn your ambitions into reality.

Programme Itinerary 💫

Throughout the week you will hear a variety of talks from our experts, based on a range of themes including team building, leadership, space, the sciences and personal development.

Your team will be assigned its own Mission Discovery mentor to help you every step of the way.

DAY 1: Mon - NASA Team Building & Leadership - 09:30 - 16:00

Just like the makings of any astronaut crew, the days focus is on bringing you together. By the end of the day, you and your team will be functioning as an elite unit.

DAY 2: Tues - Introduction to Design Brief - 09:00 - 16:00

Now you’re ready to take on your first space mission. We introduce you to the design brief. You and your space squad will work quickly to pull together ideas.

DAY 3: Weds - Budgeting, Planning & Experiment Design - 09:00 - 16:00

Let’s finalise those ideas and work out how your experiment is going to work in microgravity.

DAY 4: Thurs - Finalise Experiments & Public Speaking Seminar - 09:00 - 16:00

You’ve done it, look how far you’ve come in only 4 days. Your experiment is ready for lift off! Let’s turn your incredible work into a presentation and get you prepped for the final tomorrow.

DAY 5: Fri - Present Ideas to Judges & Winners Announced 09:00 - 15:30

All the hard work is done, now it's time to present your idea to our friendly judges and accept your Mission Completion certificate and awards at the Mission Discovery closing ceremony. YOU DID IT 🤩

Residential Option Available 🙌

The residential option offers students a taste of university life, staying in King's College London’s halls just a short walk from the programme venue. You’ll be grouped with peers of similar ages in single-sex flats, providing a fun and social experience where lifelong friendships are made.
With top-notch safeguarding, both parents and students can feel confident that you're safe and well looked after while enjoying all the excitement of the programme and London!
